Phuoc An Port in southern Vietnam has taken delivery of three STS cranes from Japan’s Mitsui E&S, bringing its total fleet to 18 units as the port expands its capacity to handle larger container ships.
The delivery was announced on October 22 by Huynh Thy Trading Services, Mitsui E&S’s official crane distributor in Vietnam. The company is supporting the port through equipment inspection, commissioning and technical handover ahead of the cranes entering service.
“Through this project, Huynh Thy continues to connect international port equipment solutions with the needs of Vietnam’s port industry, working alongside manufacturers and customers to support project implementation and technical requirements,” the company said.
The shipment follows the arrival of three similar cranes in August. The port said at the time that the 18-row STS cranes have an outreach of about 50m and a lifting height of up to 40m. The additional equipment is intended to improve loading and unloading productivity, reduce vessel turnaround times and improve service quality.
