MSC will extend its Zephyr service into the Red Sea by adding calls at King Abdullah Port and Jeddah, according to DynaLiners.
The carrier will simultaneously remove Salalah from the service, which currently links Colombo with Djibouti.
MSC will also significantly increase the vessels deployed on the route. Four ships averaging 4,800 TEUs will be replaced by seven vessels of approximately 16,000 TEUs each.
The changes will expand the Zephyr service’s Saudi Arabian coverage and substantially increase its deployed capacity.
