Samir J Shah, President, ACAAI said, “The real enemy of cold-chain integrity is the accumulation of ‘warm minutes’ — unmanaged temperature gaps between the farm gate, packhouse, airport, aircraft and destination. Fragmented handovers, power-dependent pre-cooling, limited airport cold rooms and peak-season capacity shortages gradually erode product shelf life. Costs remain high because cargo flows are often one-directional — with aircraft returning underloaded. Speed is compromised by multi-agency inspections, fumigation requirements, and repetitive paperwork. Addressing these challenges requires practical, coordinated solutions.”
