Two of the newest vessels in the fleet of TMS Cardiff Gas are set to receive comprehensive lifecycle support following the signing of a five-year service agreement with marine technology group Wärtsilä.

The agreement covers the recently delivered 174,000 cubic metre liquefied natural gas carriers Al Thurayya and Al Majhoulah, both of which have recently entered service as part of the Greek operator’s ongoing fleet expansion programme.

Designed to transport large volumes of liquefied natural gas around the world, the sister ships represent some of the latest additions to the growing LNG carrier fleet serving the expanding global gas trade. As demand for LNG transportation continues to increase, maintaining high levels of vessel reliability and availability has become a key priority for operators.

Under the new arrangement, the two LNG carriers will benefit from Wärtsilä’s Dynamic Maintenance Planning programme, which is intended to optimise maintenance schedules, extend service intervals and reduce spare parts consumption. The vessels will also receive round-the-clock remote operational support, contract management services and predictive maintenance monitoring designed to identify potential technical issues before they affect operations.
