Ørsted Orders Third Saab Seaeye Cougar ROV for Offshore Wind Operations

Saab UK has secured an order from Ørsted for a Seaeye Cougar XT Compact remotely operated vehicle (ROV), expanding the offshore wind developer’s fleet of Saab Seaeye systems to three Cougar units.

The ROV will support inspection and maintenance across Ørsted’s offshore wind portfolio, including work on foundations, subsea cables and other underwater infrastructure.

The Cougar XT Compact features an electric propulsion system designed to provide precise control and manoeuvrability during subsea inspection and intervention work, Saab UK said and added that the order builds on its existing relationship with Ørsted.

“Expanding its Saab Seaeye fleet with a third Cougar system reflects the confidence the company has in our technology and its ability to support inspection and maintenance operations across offshore wind assets”, said Jon Robertson, Managing Director of Seaeye at Saab UK.
