SAUDI ARABIA: Pandrol is to open a rail fastening factory in Riyadh in conjunction with local company Links Investments. Production is planned to begin in the first half of 2027, supplying projects in Saudi Arabia and potentially across the wider Gulf Co-operation Council region.
Pandrol said there would be an emphasis on developing local content throughout the supply chain, in-line with the national Vision 2030 for industrial growth, skills and economic diversification.
‘Saudi Arabia is undertaking one of the most significant rail development programmes anywhere in the world’, said Pandrol CEO Guy Talbourdet on October 26. ‘Establishing manufacturing in Riyadh brings Pandrol’s rail fastenings closer to this major growth area for rail.’
Riyadh-based Links Investments has interests across a range of business activities, and is the holding company for IROLLI which provides rolling stock and on-track plant lease and sale, rail operation, supply, maintenance, construction and design and engineering services.
