Polaris Projects, the project logistics division of Dubai, UAE-headquartered Polaris Shipping Agencies, has completed the first phase of an ongoing project to move oversized pressure filters to the Far East.

Each pressure filter weighs approximately 90 tonnes and measures roughly 23 m x 4.5 m x 4.5 m, requiring specialist transportation and meticulous logistical planning.

With geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East and no direct vessel services from UAE ports for this type of movement, Polaris Projects devised an alternative logistics solution to maintain project progress and optimise costs.

This began with the firm transporting the filters overland from the UAE to the Polaris storage yard in Oman, 15 km from the intended loading port. This required specialised trailers, route surveys, street furniture removals, cross-border permits and escort arrangements. Due to congestion at Omani ports and vessel berthing delays, which extended to approximately one month, Polaris Projects organised cargo staging and vessel arrangements to help minimise delays and maintain operational efficiency.
