Port of Barcelona’s Board of Directors has approved the development of a new Terminal C and the extension of the concession held by Creuers del Port de Barcelona.
An investment of more than €50 million is planned for the construction of a new 11,253 square meter cruise terminal at Adossat Wharf as part of a wider €104.5 million project.
The new facility will feature solar power generation and onshore power supply (OPS) infrastructure, enabling cruise vessels to connect to the electricity grid while at berth, Global Ports Holding (GPH) said in a press release.
Furthermore, under the revised agreement, the concession held by Creuers del Port de Barcelona will now run until 2050, with the option to extend it until 2053.
