The Port of Oakland has announced that 84% of the electricity delivered in 2025 by its publicly owned utility, Port Public Power, to port tenants and facilities came from renewable and zero-carbon sources.

The Board of Commissioners approved the annual Power Source Disclosure Report and Power Content Label for submission to the California Energy Commission at its October 22 meeting.

Renewable resources made up 61% of the supply, against a 46% average for California utilities, with geothermal the largest source, followed by solar, biomass and biogas, and eligible small hydroelectric power.

A further 21% came from large hydroelectric power, and other zero-carbon market purchases brought the combined share to 84%.
