Two of Gujarat’s best-known manufacturing clusters are ready to move beyond production at scale. Their next chapter will be written in quality systems, logistics, technology and export readiness.

Rajkot and Morbi are among the most recognizable manufacturing centers in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region. Their industrial identities are distinct but complementary. Rajkot is known for engineering, foundries, machine tools, auto components, castings and precision manufacturing. Morbi has grown into a major center for ceramics and tiles, supplying construction markets in India and overseas.

The idea of “Engineering Global Reach” captures this transition. It is not simply about manufacturing more or exporting larger volumes. It is about building the systems that let local manufacturers serve international customers reliably, from quality assurance and logistics to technology and market access. The timing is favorable, as global buyers reassess their supply chains and industrial regions compete for higher-value investment.

The region’s manufacturing base has attracted national attention. At the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra, inaugurated in Rajkot on 11 January 2026, the Prime Minister highlighted Rajkot’s extensive MSME ecosystem and the importance of Morbi’s tile industry. The conference placed ceramics, engineering, ports and logistics, green energy and skills at the centre of the region’s investment agenda.
