APM Terminals group subsidiary, Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT), set a new container throughput record for the third consecutive month this year in September, handling 107,803 TEU. This is the third month in a row that the Jordanian terminal has handled over 100,000 TEU, following on from earlier record-breaking volumes in July and August this year.

As well as local traffic flows, ACT also maintained high levels of transit cargo activity during the month, handling 14,712 TEU, underlining the terminal’s role in facilitating the movement of goods between Jordan and regional markets.

Commenting on ACT’s performance in September, José Rueda, Chief Executive Officer, said, “As the logistics landscape continues to evolve, our focus is on strengthening our position as a trusted regional gateway by combining operational performance with the connectivity, reliability and service standards that our customers and partners need. This performance gives us a strong foundation to build on as we continue to contribute to the growth and competitiveness of Jordan’s logistics sector.”
