The first tanker carrying 40,000 tonnes of Russian diesel fuel is reportedly set to depart for the United States.
The ship will carry 40,000 metric tons of diesel, Russian president Vladimir Putin said during talks with US president’s special envoy Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg.
Putin told Witkoff on Wednesday that the first tanker would depart in two to three days and that others would follow one after another.
He also said the financial arrangements are needed to be finalised for the shipments to proceed ‘smoothly’.
