Samudera Shipping Line has signed shipbuilding contracts for two new 3,000 TEU container vessels as part of its fleet development programme.

The Singapore-listed carrier entered into the agreements with Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding and Jiangsu Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding. The filing identifies the two Chinese yards collectively as the seller but does not specify how construction will be divided between them.

Both vessels are expected to be delivered to Samudera by 2030, subject to the terms of the respective contracts.

Samudera said the newbuildings will strengthen its container shipping capacity and support its long-term operational requirements.
