Denmark-headquartered Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has signed an agreement to acquire Oregon, USA-based OIA Global. The transaction will be the largest investment in SGL’s history and would strengthen its presence in key markets, notably in the USA.
OIA Global’s 60 offices will also bolster SGL’s service offering, with its expertise spanning freight forwarding, Customs brokerage, contract logistics, project logistics, 4PL, packaging design and materials management.
“As our largest investment to date, it will place us among the world’s top 20 freight forwarders, strengthen our position in key markets and expand our capabilities across the supply chain,” said Allan Melgaard, global ceo of SGL.
The agreement is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in Q1 2027. Until then, OIA Global and SGL continue to operate as separate companies.
