Kalmar has received an order from Tropical Shipping for a hybrid straddle carrier and a reachstacker for its container terminal in Riviera Beach, Florida.
The order was recorded in Kalmar’s third-quarter 2026 order intake, with delivery of both machines scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.
The new straddle carrier will be the first hybrid model in Tropical Shipping’s fleet. The company selected the equipment as part of its efforts to manage fuel consumption, maintenance expenses and emissions.
The hybrid straddle carrier will be equipped with MyKalmar INSIGHT, a digital fleet management solution that provides equipment performance and operational information.
