Hutchison Ports Sydney is now operating two new ship-to-shore cranes at its Port Botany terminal.
The cranes are designed to serve vessels carrying more than 15,000 TEU, with each able to reach across ships up to 23 containers wide and to work containers stacked more than nine high above deck.
The investment responds to the continuing growth in the size of global container ships.
It improves Port Botany’s ability to accommodate larger vessels and gives shipping lines greater flexibility on Australian trade routes.
