Wallenius Wilhelmsen has ordered four LNG dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carriers from China’s Jinling Shipyard and secured options for eight additional vessels.
Each Shaper Class vessel will have capacity for 9,900 car equivalent units. Delivery of the four firm ships is scheduled to begin in mid-2030.
The options cover four additional vessels for delivery in 2031 and another four in 2032. If Wallenius Wilhelmsen exercises all eight options, total capital expenditure is expected to reach approximately US$1.5 billion.
The agreement follows the company’s private placement announced earlier in October 2026.
