Wallenius Wilhelmsen has closed the third quarter on a positive note, with revenue, EBITDA and profit up quarter-on-quarter. Third-quarter revenue rose 7 percent to USD1.4 billion, boosted by strong shipping service revenue. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were up 14 percent QoQ, reaching USD414 million.
Net profit for the period was USD212 million, up 53 percent from the previous quarter. This was despite impacts from digital transformation and restructuring expenses.
“We delivered a strong third quarter, with solid demand and performance across the business,” Lasse Krtistoffersen, Wallenius Wilhelmsen ceo, said. “With our shipping capacity fully committed for 2026, we are focused on delivering for our customers and building a strong position for 2027 and beyond. Recent significant contract awards underpin this work. Shaper-class deliveries and our newly expanded newbuilding programme will strengthen our competitive position for the years ahead,” he added.
The company confirmed its investment in four new dual-fuel 9,900 ceu ro-ro vessels at the Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu), China. The agreement includes options for up to eight additional vessels, with deliveries starting in mid-2030. The order was followed by a couple of contracts worth more than USD1 billion with an existing equipment manufacturer, and a USD700 million deal with an Asian car manufacturer.
