A new licensing agreement with HD Hyundai Marine Engine is expanding access to WinGD dual-fuel and diesel technologies

WinGD has signed its first-ever licensing agreement with HD Hyundai Marine Engine, expanding the availability of its two-stroke diesel and dual-fuel engine technologies for bulk carrier and tanker newbuild projects in Korea and international markets.

The agreement will enable HD Hyundai Marine Engine, formerly STX Heavy Industries, to manufacture WinGD-designed mid-bore engines, strengthening the Swiss technology company’s presence in key vessel segments and complementing its existing partnership with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.

WinGD vice president Product Centre, Peter Krähenbühl said: “This new agreement expands our ability to deliver main engines for high-volume vessel segments in Korea and enables HD Hyundai Marine Engine’s customers to select WinGD engine technology.”
