CMA CGM has announced a series of new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on dry cargo shipments from the Indian Subcontinent to Europe, the Mediterranean and Latin America, with the new rates taking effect later this month.
The carrier will introduce a US$500 per container PSS on dry cargo moving from the Indian Subcontinent to Europe and the Mediterranean from 15 July 2026.
A second increase will follow on 22 July, when CMA CGM will raise the PSS for the same trade lane to US$1,500 per container.
The carrier will also introduce a US$1,500 per container PSS on dry cargo shipments from the Indian Subcontinent to Central America East Coast, the Caribbean, French Guiana, the French West Indies, Guyana, North Brazil, the Leeward Islands, the Windward Islands, Mexico East Coast and South America’s West Coast.
That surcharge will apply from 22 July 2026, while shipments to U.S. territories will be subject to the increase from 10 August 2026.
The latest surcharge announcements come as carriers continue adjusting freight pricing ahead of the traditional peak shipping season, with demand strengthening across several east-west and north-south trade lanes.
