Barge and SPMTs combine to bring Dutch superyacht to sea

A carefully-choreographed barge transport through Dutch inland waterways has carried the newly-unveiled superyacht Project Zero from shipyard to sea.

The logistics operation began inside Vitters Shipyard’s construction hall at Zwartsluis, where the 69 m-long Project Zero was slowly rolled out on SPMTs before being transferred to the waiting barge.

It then embarked on its journey to Harlingen, where it will be launched and enter the final stages of construction.

This transport marks the end of a seven-year build programme. Designed by Vitters in collaboration with Dykstra Naval ArchitectsProject Zero has been conceived as a next-generation sailing yacht capable of operating without fossil fuels during normal use, relying instead on energy harvested from the sun, wind and water.
