Workwear brand Engelbert Strauss signed an agreement with DHL Supply Chain for end-to-end logistics services, including warehousing, distribution and product personalization in Columbus, Ohio, according to a July 8 press release.
Under the agreement, Strauss’ product personalization, including embroidery and print customization, are being directly integrated into fulfillment operations at DHL Supply Chain’s distribution hub in Columbus, per the release. In turn, Strauss aims to improve turnaround times and the ordering experience while streamlining order processing as it scales its U.S. operations.
The Columbus hub can process up to 1.3 million Strauss units annually and can be scaled further to accommodate ongoing growth, per the press release. After six months of integration work, the first outbound package under the partnership was shipped from the DHL hub on June 24.
Operations under the agreement are split between two facilities located about a 10-minute drive apart, a Strauss spokesperson told Supply Chain Dive in an email. Orders are picked at DHL’s Creekside Parkway warehouse just outside Columbus before being moved to its facility on Rohr Road in the suburb of Groveport for product personalization. Orders are then shipped to customers from the Groveport facility.
