In June, Tereos completed the largest shipment of VHP sugar on a single ship to China. In the large operation, the shipment included 75 thousand tons of VHP (Very High Polarization) sugar.

The operation took place at the Terminal Integrador Luiz Antônio Mesquita (TIPLAM), which is operated by VLI in Baixada Santista, reinforcing the company’s ability to structure complex logistical operations aimed at exports.

The new shipment surpasses the company’s last record, which was recorded in 2025, when 70 thousand tons of sugar were exported to the Asian market in a single operation.

In addition to the record volume, the operation is also highlighted by Tereos’ leading role in all commercial and logistics negotiations. The sale was carried out by the company’s trading company, and the ship used in the operation was chartered by Tereos Commodities France (TCF), consolidating the company’s strategy of expanding its integrated operations in the international market.

Following this model, the company coordinates the entire chain, from trading to chartering, connecting commercial decisions to logistics operations.

TIPLAM acts as a facilitator in this process, offering infrastructure and operational efficiency so that Tereos can execute precise logistics planning, with synchronization between sugar delivery, storage, terminal line-up and ship arrival.

“Carrying out this historic shipment reinforces the evolution of our operational, commercial and logistical capacity. This result demonstrates our competitiveness in the international market, and our trading company’s ability to identify strategic opportunities and conduct large-scale operations”, says Gustavo Segantini, commercial director at Tereos.

Tereos’ export capacity has increased significantly in recent years, as a result of factors such as the evolution of TIPLAM’s infrastructure and the partnership with VLI. The volume handled has grown by more than 90% in the last five harvests.

Furthermore, the increase in the terminal’s draft made it possible to increase the volume embarked on a single ship from 60 thousand to 75 thousand tons, with the potential for even greater volumes. This advance has contributed to enabling increasingly robust and efficient operations for the sector.
