“Art in Porto” exhibition opens to the public on July 17th at the Porto de Santos Museum

From July 17th, the Porto de Santos Museum will host the exhibition Arte no Porto, a project that brings together urban, contemporary and authorial art to pay homage to one of the greatest symbols of Brazilian history and economy: the Port of Santos.

Presented by Lei Rouanet and T-Grão Cargo, carried out by the Ministry of Culture, the project transforms the museum into a meeting space between culture, identity and heritage, bringing the public closer to the port universe through artistic expression.

The exhibition brings together 10 artists from Baixada Santista, each bringing their own interpretation of Porto. There are ten different perspectives that reveal, in new works, the strength, history, daily life and importance of the largest port in Latin America.

More than a collective exhibition, Arte no Porto seeks to value the region’s artists and encourage new ways of seeing the Port of Santos, not only as a logistical and economic center, but also as a cultural heritage that is part of the city’s identity and that of thousands of people.

The opening takes place on July 17th, from 5pm to 8pm, at the Santos Port Museum, bringing together artists, guests, representatives of the port sector, supporters and the public to celebrate the beginning of the exhibition.

The exhibition will remain open for viewing at the Porto Museum, providing visitors with the opportunity to discover different artistic languages ​​inspired by the same territory.
