Heidmar buys Dutch ship manager Q-Shipping

Nasdaq-listed Heidmar Maritime has acquired Dutch shipmanagement and crewing outfit Q-Shipping in a small deal aimed at widening its technical platform.

The Athens-based company said it paid about $200,000 for the business, using cash on hand.

The transaction closed this month and adds nine vessels to Heidmar’s managed fleet.

Q-Shipping gives Heidmar an operating presence in the Netherlands and Turkey, as well as a dedicated crewing operation in Ukraine.

Following the acquisition, Heidmar manages about 50 vessels commercially and 16 vessels technically.

Pankaj Khanna, chief executive officer of Heidmar, said the deal adds vessels and new regional coverage with “minimal capital and immediate operational upside”.

Q-Shipping provides third-party shipmanagement services across several vessel types, including bulk carriers, tankers, containerships, multipurpose vessels and yachts.
