Super Terminais took another step in its operational modernization program by incorporating three new electric cranes into its equipment fleet. The investment reinforces the terminal’s cargo handling capacity and follows the growing demand for more efficient and sustainable operations at the Port of Manaus.

The arrival of the new equipment is part of the company’s strategy to increase the productivity of operations, reducing service times for ships and increasing the operational availability of berths.

In addition to the gain in capacity, the adoption of electrically powered equipment represents an important evolution in the terminal’s environmental agenda. Compared to machines powered by fossil fuels, electric cranes contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions, lower noise levels and lower maintenance costs throughout the operating cycle.

The investment follows a trend observed in large international ports, where the electrification of cargo handling equipment has been used as a tool to increase energy efficiency and meet decarbonization targets for port activity.

Located in a strategic position in the North Region, Super Terminais plays a fundamental role in Amazon logistics, concentrating container operations, general cargo and special projects. Strengthening the infrastructure expands the terminal’s capacity to keep up with the growth of regional trade and cabotage operations.

Industry experts assess that investments in automation, digitalization and electrification will be increasingly decisive for the competitiveness of Brazilian ports. Renewing the equipment fleet allows productivity gains, improves operational safety indicators and contributes to more sustainable logistics.

With the incorporation of the new cranes, Super Terminais reinforces its expansion strategy and prepares its infrastructure to meet the expected increase in cargo movement in the coming years.
