The FedEx Master Executive Council (MEC), represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), on June 9 reported that 83% of FedEx pilots voted in favor of a new collective bargaining agreement. ALPA says 98.5% of eligible pilots participated in the voting process.
The agreement follows an extended bargaining process that included both direct negotiations and mediation under the National Mediation Board.
“This ratification concludes a nearly five-year negotiation process and reflects the collective decision of the pilot group,” said Captain Jose M. Nieves, chair of the FedEx ALPA MEC. “FedEx pilots remained engaged throughout negotiations and participated extensively during the review and voting process.”
The agreement addresses multiple areas of the pilot contract, including compensation, retirement, scheduling, work rules, and job protections.
“Our focus now turns toward implementation and enforcement of the agreement,” Nieves said. “We will remain actively involved throughout this process and continue representing and advocating for FedEx pilots.”
The contract’s effective date is June 29, 2026. It becomes amendable in December 2030.
Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 80,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines.
