CONDESG prepares Guarujá for the arrival of the Santos-Guarujá tunnel and defends integrated planning to boost the economy

Heitor Gonzalez, president of the Guarujá Sustainable Development Council (CONDESG), considers the construction of the Santos-Guarujá tunnel a historic opportunity for the municipality. According to the businessman, works like this significantly transform the urban, economic and social dynamics of a city, which is why CONDESG is conducting planning so that Guarujá can take advantage of all the benefits and reduce the impacts resulting from the implementation of the dry connection.

According to Heitor, CONDESG has held technical meetings with experts, business entities, universities and representatives of public authorities with the aim of discussing topics such as urban mobility, territorial planning, housing, logistics, tourism, professional qualifications, environmental preservation and attracting new investments.

The council advocates that the tunnel be accompanied by integrated planning, capable of organizing the city’s growth, avoiding problems of disorderly occupation, improving road access and creating a favorable environment for the installation of new companies and enterprises.

In collaboration with the Guarujá 2034 Movement, a civil society initiative focused on strategic planning for the sustainable development of the city, and in constant alignment with the Municipality, CONDESG works to build short, medium and long-term structuring projects that allow preparing Guarujá for its future growth in a sustainable way. These projects are structured in a way that integrates development, mobility and environmental preservation.

According to the president, one of the main priorities, especially considering the transformations that will arise with the Santos-Guarujá tunnel, is the planning of the city’s road infrastructure. Given this scenario, improving access, reorganizing urban mobility and implementing new road corridors become fundamental to reducing environmental impacts, reducing congestion, improving traffic flow and providing a better quality of life for the population.
