Air India Express has launched a twice-weekly non-stop service between Visakhapatnam and Bangkok, strengthening international air connectivity from eastern India. The inaugural flight arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport on 27 October 2026. The new route adds another international connection from a regional Indian city and expands the airline’s network to Thailand ahead of the 2026–27 winter travel season.
The inaugural service, flight IX0904, departed Visakhapatnam at 11.35 local time and arrived at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 16.00. The return service, IX0903, departs Bangkok at 02.10 and arrives in Visakhapatnam at 03.55. Both flights operate twice a week, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
Representatives from TAT and Air India Express welcomed the inaugural flight in Bangkok. The delegation was led by Patsee Permvongsene, Executive Director for the ASEAN, South Asia and South Pacific Region at TAT.
The route provides direct access between Visakhapatnam, an important commercial centre in Andhra Pradesh, and Thailand’s capital. It also removes the need for passengers travelling between the two cities to connect through another Indian or international airport.
