AIT Worldwide Logistics agreed to acquire Sydney-based freight forwarder Connor Anderson International, expanding AIT’s operations in Australia and its reach across Oceania. Connor Anderson International provides ocean, air and road transportation services, as well as customs brokerage, warehousing and project cargo management. The company has facilities in Sydney and Melbourne. AIT — which ranks No. 22 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest logistics companies in North America — said the acquisition will bolster its specialized services for technology companies shipping cloud computing components and other high-value equipment used in AI applications. “This acquisition, and the rapid integration that will follow, demonstrates our strategic response to customers in the region and serves as the foundation for AIT’s long-term expansion to serve Oceania more broadly,” AIT Chief Development Officer Ray Fennelly said. CAI’s in-house customs brokerage operation also will give AIT additional capabilities for handling shipments entering Australia, Fennelly said. The combined business will support customers in the aerospace, automotive and technology industries. AIT and CAI have worked together since 2011. Founded in 1974, CAI has increasingly focused on specialized logistics services for technology companies operating in Australia and the broader Oceania market. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Assisted by AI.
