Akasa Air will shift its Mumbai–Jeddah flights from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) from December 2026, adding an international route to the new airport as Mumbai prepares to redistribute airline operations across two aviation hubs.
The move was announced jointly by Akasa Air and Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), which operates both Mumbai airports. Bookings for the service from Navi Mumbai opened on 26 October through the airline’s website, mobile application and online travel agencies. The companies have not yet specified the exact date on which the transfer will take effect. <Cite refs={[“turn705141search4″,”turn705141search5”]}/>
The change comes as IndiGo and the Air India Group also prepare to move selected flights to NMIA from December. The broader transition is intended to free up capacity at the existing airport ahead of the planned redevelopment of Terminal 1 and establish a dual-airport system for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The transfer will extend Akasa Air’s existing operations at Navi Mumbai to international services. Jeddah is an important destination for Indian travellers, including people travelling for religious pilgrimages, business and family visits.
