Alfa Laval has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Norwegian maritime software company NAVTOR for US$700 million in an all-cash transaction, expanding its digital technology portfolio for the shipping industry.
The acquisition will bring NAVTOR’s e-navigation, vessel performance and fleet management solutions into Alfa Laval’s Ocean Division. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
The Swedish industrial group plans to finance the acquisition through a combination of existing cash resources and funding programmes.
According to Alfa Laval, the transaction is expected to have a neutral impact on the group’s operating margin in the short term.
