American Airlines Cargo has officially extended its longstanding strategic partnership with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a subsidiary of the SATS Group. The newly inked five-year cargo handling agreement covers comprehensive operations across eight major European countries, cementing a collaborative relationship that has successfully spanned more than four decades. This extensive renewal underscores the critical importance of seamless ground operations in maintaining robust transatlantic supply chains and highlights the mutual trust cultivated between the two aviation heavyweights over the years.

The comprehensive agreement will see WFS continue to manage critical cargo handling services across major stations within the carrier’s European network. The eight nations included in this expansive contract are Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom. By securing this long-term commitment, the Dallas Fort Worth-headquartered carrier aims to bolster its transatlantic footprint and seamlessly connect customers and freight between the European continent, the United States, and various destinations spanning the airline’s vast global network.

The agreement was formally signed at American Airlines’ headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, by Dan Bartel, SVP Chief Procurement Officer at American Airlines, and Martin Holme, Chief Commercial Officer at SATS Ltd., and witnessed by Greg Schwendinger, President at American Airlines Cargo, and Dan Parker, SVP Commercial EMEA at WFS.
