Baker Hughes has been awarded a contract by Italy’s energy giant Eni for the supply of subsea production systems and services for Cyprus's first-ever commercial gas development.
Under the contract described as significant, Baker Hughes reported that it had been put in charge of the subsea production systems scope for the deepwater Cronos project, covering deepwater subsea trees, wellheads, connectors, manifolds, topside controls and associated services.
The development will leverage a fast-track approach based on regional integration and the use of existing infrastructure.
Baker Hughes noted that it would use its deepwater expertise and standardized, configurable subsea production solutions to help reduce complexity, de-risk delivery and shorten the path to first gas, in support of Eni’s accelerated project schedule.
