With regional security changing rapidly, Drewry’s Red Sea Diversion Tracker delivers timely intelligence to shippers, carriers, ports and other stakeholders on the evolving structure of carrier networks. This tracker page is updated fortnightly (every other Tuesday).

Most Asia-Europe capacity now back via Suez During the week ended 1 Nov, 53 containerships transited the Suez Canal (in either direction), up 130% when compared with the number in the same week of 2025, with 60% of Asia-Europe capacity now using the Suez route again, reversing nearly 3 years of diversions.

There have now been 5 weeks with more than 50 Suez transits a week, indicating a continued momentum in the return of containerships from the Cape of Good Hope route to the Suez route. The average number of transits via Suez was 57 in the latest 3 weeks, up 13% from the average in the previous three weeks.

Weekly insight and recommendations for shippers and forwarders on the Suez Canal, Strait of Hormuz, Cape of Good Hope and Panama Canal are now included in Drewry’s Container Capacity Insight subscription service. Source: Drewry
