Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced the completion of the upgrade to its second airside facility at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) ahead of the traditional peak season.

The transportation company has stated the modernisation programme substantially increases operational capacity and streamlines customs procedures at the facility.

‘This further reinforces Madrid’s strategic role as a primary gateway and global transit hub within the company’s European and intercontinental network,’ FedEx stated.

The refurbished facility complements the existing FedEx installation at MAD. Both together bring the company’s total airside operational footprint more than 4,500 sq m in the Spanish capital.
