Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI) in Chile, operated by Hanseatic Global Terminals, has taken delivery of four electric reach stackers supplied by Sany.
The company says the delivery makes it the first port terminal in northern Chile to operate this type of equipment. The terminal will now begin assembling and fine-tuning the machines before they enter service.
The SRSC45E3 model reach stackers are equipped with high-capacity lithium batteries, offering between six and nine hours of operation and fast-charging times of between one and 1.5 hours. They have a lifting capacity of up to 45t. The investment also includes new electrical infrastructure and fast-charging stations to support the equipment.
