Madhya Pradesh has opened the Satna–Devendranagar and Rewa–Churhat railway sections, covering 118 km and involving approximately ₹1,943 crore in investment. Inaugurated on 24 October, the lines extend passenger connectivity and create opportunities for cement, clinker and agricultural freight movement across the Vindhya and Bundelkhand regions.
Madhya Pradesh rail expansion advanced on 24 October 2026 with the inauguration of the 53-km Satna–Devendranagar and 65-km Rewa–Churhat sections.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the links, alongside the flagging-off of a Devendranagar–Churhat passenger service. Vaishnaw participated through video conferencing from New Delhi.
The openings extend rail access towards Churhat in Sidhi district and Devendranagar in the Panna region. They also strengthen connections through the existing railway centres of Satna and Rewa.
