More than 200 passengers were told to disembark in Cambodia after they paid thousands of dollars to live on the residential cruise permanently.
More than 200 passengers on the cruise ship Villa Vie Odyssey were told to disembark in Cambodia after they had paid thousands of dollars to live on the residential cruise permanently.
The decision came after the cruise company ran out of money for fuel and faced increasing debts.
The cruise had been sailing across the world for around 762 days, during which it visited 147 countries, visited 425 plus ports and more than 100 islands.
It was one of the few vessels that offered passengers the opportunity to purchase or rent cabins onboard. Taing Sochitkrishna, head of the Sihanoukville tourism department said that approximately 100 passengers remained in Cambodia and the remaining took flights to return home or explore the region.
