Rohde Nielsen has successfully completed capital dredging works as part of the renovation of the entrance channel to the Port of Łeba, Poland.
Under the project, approximately 225,000 m³ of sediment was dredged from the entrance channel, harbor approach and associated navigational areas to achieve the required design depths.
The work forms a key part of the port modernization works aimed at reducing wave penetration, mitigating recurring siltation and improving access conditions.
Executed by the split trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Magni R, the works also incorporated the beneficial reuse of suitable dredged material for coastal protection and shoreline restoration, contributing to both sustainable infrastructure development and enhanced coastal resilience along the Baltic coast.
