The United Arab Emirates increased oil exports following the start of the Iran war, Energy Minister Suhail al-Mazrouei said at ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi.

The UAE left the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries in April after 59 years of membership. The departure came weeks after the US-Israeli war with Iran began at the end of February. The conflict has disrupted energy supplies and pushed oil prices higher.

Al-Mazrouei told the energy conference that UAE exports at times exceeded pre-war levels, though he did not provide specific figures. The country plans to protect its energy infrastructure and invest in new export routes, he said. ADIPEC continues through Thursday.

OPEC data from secondary sources show the UAE produced 3.917 million barrels per day of crude in September, a 15% increase from February levels.
