Wallenius Wilhelmsen secured a three-year deal worth USD700 million with an Asian car manufacturer, extending its recent bookings to well over USD1.5 billion. The company said the three-year deal includes a two-year extension option and incorporates a multi-fuel approach across all trade lanes. This leaves the space to gradually introduce alternative and lower-emission fuels.

“The significant long-term commitment strengthens our position as a key logistics partner and gives us an even stronger foundation for providing end-to-end solutions across ocean, logistics, and supply chain services,” says John Felitto, chief customer officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

The deal follows a couple of contracts Wallenius Wilhelmsen signed last week with an equipment manufacturer. The value of the contract exceeds USD1 billion.

Furthermore, the company has signed a shipbuilding contract with Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) for up to 12 dual-fuel 9,900 ceu pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs). Should the company exercise all the options in the contract, the total order value would reach USD1.5 billion.
