The Juruá Shipyard delivered, this Wednesday (25), in Iranduba (AM), the first of 10 bulk ferries, financed by Caixa with resources from the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM). The operation, which involves credit of R$46 million, was signed between the bank and CT Log, part of the 3NF group. The vessels will sail through Arco Norte, integrating ports and waterways in the North region and part of the Northeast, mainly for the transport of grains produced in the Center-West, contributing to greater logistical efficiency and cost reduction in cargo transportation.

The ferries under construction at the Juruá (AM) shipyard total investments of R$52 million. The units will have a load capacity of 3,000 tons each. The operation marks the first contract in this segment signed by Caixa in the Amazon region with a local company. The FMM financial agent highlighted that the financing reinforces the bank’s strategic role in promoting river logistics and sustainable development. Caixa and Estaleiro Juruá began a relationship with Navalshore Navegistic 2024, in Manaus.
Representatives from Caixa, CT Log and Estaleiro Juruá participated in the launch of the ferry on the Rio Negro. In a note, the financial agent stated that the initiative contributes to expanding regional logistics capacity, improves efficiency in production flow and strengthens the transport chain, benefiting producers, shipping companies and the entire logistics chain in the North region.
“The signing of the contract reinforces Caixa’s role in offering financial instruments suited to the country’s different realities, contributing to regional economic growth and strengthening the governance necessary for customers to have access to these solutions”, stated Caixa’s national superintendent of securities intermediation and debt structuring, Marco Buzzo.
Caixa’s wholesale superintendent for Amazonas, Bruno Cabral, added that the financing demonstrates that the bank is attentive to the specific needs of its customers. “In addition to the environmental benefits, the use of river transport contributes to the optimization of regional logistics and can generate savings in operational costs for the companies involved and for the end consumer”, he highlighted.
