The PAR 14 area was purchased by BTG Pactual Commodities Sertrading during an auction promoted by Ports of Paraná in April 2025. The asset is considered strategic to expand cargo movement and strengthen the logistical competitiveness of the port complex in Paraná.
The Port of Paranaguá is one of the main export corridors for Brazilian agribusiness and plays a fundamental role in the movement of grains, fertilizers and general cargo. The expansion of the leased area should contribute to increasing operational capacity and improving the terminal’s logistical efficiency.
Industry experts assess that the Reidi framework reinforces the attractiveness of private investments in port infrastructure, especially at a time of strong growth in demand for modern and efficient facilities to serve Brazilian foreign trade.
In addition to expanding cargo handling capacity, the investments planned for the PAR 14 area should generate jobs during the implementation and operation phases, strengthening the regional economy and consolidating the Port of Paranaguá as one of the country’s main logistics hubs.
The initiative also follows the national strategy for modernizing port infrastructure, which seeks to increase the participation of the private sector in new projects and increase the competitiveness of Brazilian ports in the international market.
