Fabrício Lopes highlights Cubatão’s strategic role in the logistics of the Port of Santos

SANTOS (SP) – The importance of Cubatão for the functioning of the Port of Santos logistics chain was the main topic addressed by Fabrício Lopes during ENIP 2026.

The municipal representative highlighted that the city occupies a strategic position in cargo movement, concentrating important road access, industrial and backport areas that support the operations of the largest Brazilian port.

According to Lopes, the growth of port activities requires integrated solutions that involve not only Santos, but the entire metropolitan region of Baixada Santista.

Among the challenges highlighted are the expansion of road capacity, the creation of new regulated parking areas for trucks and the improvement of access used for cargo transport.

The representative also highlighted the historical role of the Cubatão Industrial Complex, which continues to be one of the most important industrial complexes in the country and a fundamental link for several production chains linked to foreign trade.

Another topic discussed was the need to strengthen regional planning to avoid logistical bottlenecks and improve the population’s quality of life.

For Lopes, the development of the Port of Santos needs to be aligned with public policies that promote mobility, sustainability and economic growth throughout Baixada Santista.

His participation concluded the debates by reinforcing a recurring message throughout ENIP 2026: the competitiveness of the Port of Santos increasingly depends on the integration between municipalities, infrastructure and regional planning.
