The winner, who presented a grant proposal of R$1.1 million, with a discount of 8%, will sign a contract with a term of 30 years.
It has committed to making investments estimated at R$280 million, which will be allocated to operations and maintenance services for water crossings for vehicles and passengers in the Furnas Hydroelectric Plant reservoir. Pedro Bruno, Secretary of Infrastructure, Mobility and Partnerships of Minas Gerais, said that the concession will bring challenges throughout its execution, but that he is optimistic that it will deliver positive results for the more than 300 thousand miners directly impacted. “This initiative has the potential to transform the reality of transport and mobility around the lake,” he stated.
Fernanda Alen, director of Infrastructure and PPP at Codemge, explained that the Lago de Furnas concession project began in 2021 and that the auction was successful. According to her, with the concession, there is a great expectation that a structuring solution will be created for the region.
