According to the document of Financial Activities Control Council (Coaf)the transfers occurred in December 2023being R$8 million paid by JBS on the 15th e R$ 3.5 million for J&F on the 18th.

The office belongs to the lawyer Maisa de Maio Marcianorecorded in a shared room in Setor Sul, in Goiânia. The report highlights that no documents capable of justifying the operations were presented, classifying the movement as “high risk for money laundering”.

Another point that caught Coaf’s attention was the fact that, on the same day as one of the receipts, part of the resources were transferred to third parties. In one of the operations, there was a transfer of R$3.5 million to lawyer and businessman Paulo Humberto Barbosa.

In a note, the companies stated that the amounts paid correspond to legal services provided and provenissuing an invoice and collecting the taxes due, but they did not detail which services were contracted.

The case gains repercussion because it involves one of the largest business groups in the country and because it occurs amid other financial movements already observed in recent investigations related to the group.
