Also participating in the meeting were Luiz Henrique Dividino, former director-president of the Administration of the Ports of Paranaguá and Antonina (APPA); Luiz Augusto Pellegrini de Carvalho, municipal secretary of Industrial and Port Expansion; and Thiago Themanski Campos, municipal secretary of Government.
The Chinese businesspeople will remain in the city for a few days to carry out further studies and technical visits. The expectation is that the institutional approach will strengthen future partnerships and pave the way for new investments linked to Porto Guará.
Adriano Ramos stated that the project has been monitored in a technical and responsible manner by the municipal administration. “They came to study Paranaguá, understand our capacity for growth and evaluate future investments in the new port. This demonstrates the trust that large national and international groups are placing in our city and in the serious work that is being carried out.”
According to the City of Paranaguá, the public body monitors discussions related to the project through the Municipal Secretariat for Industrial and Port Expansion, seeking to ensure that the advancement of economic development is linked to the generation of jobs, the strengthening of infrastructure and direct benefits for the population.
The CEO of the future Porto Guará, Xenia Arnt, stated that the meeting marked another important step in building dialogue between investors, Public Authorities and the local community. “We brought to this meeting with Mayor Adriano Ramos a group of potential investors from China, who want to get closer to the city, the City Hall, the community, learn how it works and who knows, perhaps, in the future, make a decision to install the port”.
