BTP Human Resources Manager, Claudio Scalise, highlights that BTP Com Elas is a pioneering social initiative in the region and in the port sector. “The great social legacy of BTP Com Elas is to genuinely contribute to the inclusion of women in the job market, especially in the Port of Santos, through learning and strengthening the port-city relationship. More than 100 women from Baixada Santista have already graduated in the last two years in an example that shows us that we are on the right path in promoting diversity and inclusion in the port sector”, he details.
Course 100% taught by women – One of the differences of BTP Com Elas is the opportunity to learn from women who already work in the port sector. All of the initiative’s classes take place within BTP and are 100% taught voluntarily by women who are employees of the container terminal.
During classes, participants learn, through theoretical, dynamic activities and conversation circles, on topics such as: port operations, protagonism, financial management, technology and innovation, psychological safety, sustainability, security, communication, project management, self-knowledge, among others. The participants also visit the operations of the terminal, which is located in the Alemoa neighborhood (in Santos) and is considered one of the largest container terminals in Latin America and a reference in port operations in the Port of Santos.
Talent bank – After completing the course, participants will also have the possibility of integrating their CV into the BTP Com Elas Talent Bank and making it available for consultation by all companies associated with the Santos Commercial Association (ACS). An opportunity that is only possible, through a cooperation agreement that was signed between BTP and ACS, in 2025, as explained by Claudio Scalise. “With the cooperation agreement, a wide network of contacts was created that exponentially expands employability opportunities for women trained at BTP Com Elas”, states the HR manager at BTP.
The cooperation agreement signed between the institutions involves the creation and maintenance of a Talent Bank with CVs from women trained in the BTP Com Elas program so that companies in Baixada Santista, associated with ACS and which are also committed to the diversity and inclusion agenda, can seek and hire professionals who are already interested in working in the logistics and port sectors.
