TAIPEI — The leader of Taiwan’s opposition Kuomintang (KMT) is due to embark Monday on a tour of the U.S. meant to shore up her foreign and defense policy credentials, at a time when the Washington establishment is increasingly wary of her party’s stance on defense and tilt toward Beijing.
